Amilton Peixoto is a fantastic producer from the Peixoto Family in the Campo dos Vertentes region of Minas Gerais. One of the few specialty Afro-Brazilian producers in Brazil, Amilton has quietly been working his trade with Lona-fermented coffees--small lots of coffees wrapped with tarp for days as they undergo a slow, methodical aerobic fermentation. Because the cherry pulp is removed after this process, this Red Catuaí is packed with flavor: a creamy mouthfeel, boozy balance and some Brazilian fruits to finish. We entered a cross-continental bidding war for this one -- it is really special!

Currently tastes like: Bailey's or any other creamy, liquer-based drink with hints of fruits and spices.
